From our powerhouse Middle School Team #8886 to our Upper School Team #12928, our Warriors have dominated the TAPPS State Robotics Championship since its inception, showcasing precision engineering, creative problem-solving, and unstoppable teamwork. Along the way, our teams have earned invitations to prestigious invitationals across the country, have competed at the FTC World Championships twice, and were most recently chosen to represent the state of Texas at the inaugural Governor’s Cup in Washington, D.C., a national stage where the best of the best compete.   • Lower School Robotics

    St. Michael's Prep is committed to providing a rich, innovative learning environment for each student. Part of this robust educational experience includes measures where students practice computational thinking, risk taking, and collaborative problem solving. Beginning in 3rd grade, students compete with peers across the county, programming robots to accomplish shared missions and tasks.

  • Middle School Robotics

    Expanding upon a Lower School robotics foundation, Middle School students deepen their knowledge through electives courses in either recreational or competitve robotics classes. This cutting-edge and innovative curriculim requires students to strengthen their thinking and problem solving skills as they are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to accomplish tasks and compete in a head-to-head, alliance format challenge.

  • Middle School Competitive Robotics

    Our 7th and 8th grade competitive and award winning Team #8886,  shines bright amongst its high school peers while competing locally, nationally, and globally. Participating in the FIRST Tech Challenge (https://firstinspires.org), a highly competitive series of robotics tournaments for high school students, our team designs, codes, and builds a robot to compete against other teams, over the course of a year. Students learn to think like engineers, gain a deeper understanding of STEM concepts, and obtain many skills that will prove useful in the professional world.

  • Upper School Competitive Robotics

    Built upon a solid Middle School engineering and science foundation, our Upper School FTC Team #12928, the LightSaders, remains dedicated to advancing in innovation, CAD design, creative builds and constant evolution, redefining the limits of robotics. Since its debut in the First Robotics field in 2016, Team #12928 has embarked on an exhilarating journey of growth and achievement, leaving an indelible mark on the global stage through numerous awards and championships.

  • Our competitive robotics team began in Middle School in 2003 as a FIRST Lego League Team. After 12 successful years, this program expanded into the Upper School.

    Teams #8886 (Middle School) and #12928 (Upper School) have won several awards at top-level tournaments including the FLL and FTC World Championships, FLL US Open, FLL North American Championship, Texas State Championships at TAPPS, and many Central Texas Regional Championships. In 2014, our Middle School team joined our Upper School Team in the FIRST Tech Challenge division, comprised of mainly high school teams and in grades 7-12.
