    Summer Assignments

Upper School students have required assignments over the summer to support their continued learning.

Summer reading keeps students engaged in academic readiness and introduces them to ideas, topics and themes that will be covered in the coming school year. The reading material chosen informs and directs the initial classroom discussions and assessments, as well as serving as a foundation from which teachers will begin addressing key terminology and class procedures.

Some Math, AP, and Honors Classes have additional course specific summer required academic work that will be sent directly from their instructors.

    Upper School Summer Work:

    Rising 9th - 12th Graders

    Volunteering at St. Michael's Prep

    Be Involved!
Our volunteers are an integral and very important part of the SMP community! With many volunteer opportunities available throughout the year, participating in our Warrior Dads groups or the Warrior Parent Circle (WPC) is a great way to get involved, meet other parents, and help grow our school community.  Examples of ways to get involved are: Classroom Room Parents, Homecoming Week, Spiritual Life Activities, Community Service Initiatives, Christmas on Campus, and Book Fair to name a few. Please contact our Director of Community Engagement, Mrs. Alicia Robertson, with any questions or to share your interest.

    '26-'27 Volunteer Interest Form

Ethics and Integrity in Ministry Required Training
As a requirement of the Diocese of Austin, all volunteers must complete the Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) training prior volunteering on campus and/or with our students. EIM is a workshop presented by a trained individual (certified by the Diocese) in an effort to educate parents and teachers about healthy and appropriate ways to be in the presence of children. To be compliant, one submits an EIM Application for the Ministry (one time only) and attends an EIM Refresher every three years. Questions? Please contact Mrs. Kathy Roy, Director of Religious Education.

    Nut Awareness

Our school community is an allergy-aware campus. While we do not guarantee the absence of nut or peanut products, we work hard to maintain a nut-free environment within the classrooms and designated areas. Parents are asked to follow the requirement of sending only nut-free snacks as these are often eaten in the students’ classrooms. Please visit this Safe Snack List for the recommended snack alternatives. Students are permitted to eat nut products in the Commons and Dining Hall during lunch time.
