Dave Winter

Middle School Science Instructor
 
Dave Winter brings 38 years of teaching and coaching experience to St. Michael’s Prep. Throughout his distinguished career in public education, Dave has taught and coached in Texas, Washington, and Ohio, serving students across elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Dave’s background includes roles as a high school science teacher and varsity coach, a middle school science teacher and coach, and an elementary classroom teacher and PE specialist. This broad range of experience gives him a unique perspective on the academic and developmental journey of his eighth-grade students—understanding both where they’ve been and where they’re headed.

A graduate of The Ohio State University, Dave approaches the classroom as a coach would a team—motivating, guiding, and celebrating progress at every step. He and his wife reside in South Austin and enjoy spending time with their two adult children and grandson, whom Dave proudly supports at sporting events and meets.

Outside of school, Dave enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, exploring Austin, and cheering on college football. He is excited to bring his energy and insight to the St. Michael’s Prep community.
