Francisco Vargas
Computer Science and Emerging Technologies Teacher
With a career spanning private, public, and magnet schools across Florida, New Mexico, and Texas, Francisco is a highly experienced PK–12 technology facilitator. He spent over a decade teaching in Colombia at Colegio Nueva Granada (CNG) and The Columbus School, where he spearheaded the implementation of a new Student Management System (SMS). During this time, he collaborated directly with middle and high school principals to streamline scheduling, electronic gradebooks, attendance, and demographic reporting. He has also served as a Testing Co-Coordinator at Sweeney Elementary in Santa Fe.
Francisco’s curriculum has always evolved alongside the tech industry. He began by teaching foundational Computer Literacy and early programming languages like Logo and BASIC, eventually expanding his expertise to include Windows, Office, video production, and robotics. Today, he is an avid 3D modeling enthusiast with a passion for optimizing workflows to make processes faster and more efficient.
A devoted family man, Francisco is married to a fellow educator who teaches Pre-K and has experience teaching AP Spanish and French. He is the proud father of two children: his daughter, Mariana, who is expecting his first grandchild, and his son, Fede, who is currently serving in the US Navy in the Pacific.
