Brianna Patterson

Upper School Science Teacher 
Brianna Patterson is an experienced science educator who has taught Biology, Advanced Biology (AP-aligned), and Environmental Science in both public and independent schools throughout the Houston area for the past 15 years. Before becoming an educator, she worked as a zookeeper at the Houston Zoo, where she cared for and trained a variety of animals, including giraffes, okapi, bongo, rhinoceroses, and tapirs. She also helped hand-raise baby giraffes and a giant anteater.
 
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Houston–Clear Lake and holds Texas teaching certifications in Life Sciences and Science Composite (Grades 8–12). She is passionate about helping students discover meaningful connections between science and everyday life through inquiry-based, hands-on learning.
 
In her free time, Brianna enjoys camping, hiking, traveling, reading, painting, crafting, and spending time with family and friends.
