Christy Chohrach

Lower School Music Teacher
Christy Chohrach is excited to join the SMP family as the Lower School Music Teacher! She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in Music from Hofstra University. Christy began her professional teaching career on Long Island, NY, where she taught high school Audio Production/Podcasting. She later returned home to Austin, where she most recently served as a Pre-K through 5th grade General Music teacher in Round Rock ISD. Throughout her teaching career, she has been passionate about fostering creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love and appreciation for music in her students. 
 
Outside of the classroom, Christy enjoys going to the movies, reading, and spoiling her cat, Cherry. She is thrilled to share her passion for music with the students and families of St. Michael’s Prep.
