Dr. Michael Pregill
Upper School Applied Design and Technology Instructor
Michael Pregill began his career in education teaching comparative religion at the university level for almost twenty years. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Religion and Middle East Studies from Columbia University, a Master's degree in Bible and Jewish Studies from Harvard Divinity School, and a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies from Columbia University. He taught numerous courses in a variety of fields at colleges and universities across the country, as well as founding a digital scholarship initiative at Boston University. A lifelong maker and designer, he embarked on a new professional path in 2023 and earned a certificate in Digital Modeling and Fabrication at IYRS School of Technology & Trades before taking up a new career in manufacturing. Most recently, he worked as the public outreach and education lead at re:3D, an industrial 3D printing company in Austin, before joining the St. Michael's Prep community in fall 2026.
